About the City of Miramar:

Located in Broward County, the City of Miramar is a residential community in the rapidly growing I-75 corridor between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Ranked in the top 10 fastest growing cities in the United States by the US Census Bureau, the City of Miramar's population has soared by 28% since 2000. As the city's population reaches an all time high, so does new home construction in the area.

The name Miramar ("Look at the Sea" in Spanish) was the name of an upscale Havana neighborhood in the 1950's. The city took the name in 1959 when the first municipal election was held, the city was already incorporated from 1955.

The city limits are the County Line Rd to the South and Pembroke Road to the North, it edges the Everglades Conservation Area to the West at US 27, and US 441 to the East. The area witnessed an explosive real estate development in the last 5-6 years, specially to the West, however achieving a balance by addressing the diverse needs of the social, economic, natural and built environments.
